Sunset Rider

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I, and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other, that we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name,
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone,
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed,
At the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Pray, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word.
It always was, let it be spoken without effect,
Without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was;
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval,
Somewhere very near, just round the corner.
All is well.
Henry Scott Holland (1847 – 1918)

Elmer's last notes to me, to post on his Website, before I left to come back to South Africa - Jualeen
"Time goes way to quick! I have spent the past 3 years preparing for the Dakar, and tomorrow I get to put to use , everything I have learnt.
A sincere thanks to all my sponsors and friends that have helped me make it to the start line. You have all showed a lot of faith in me and have made me realize how fortunate I am to have made so many friends over the years. I will be doing my best, every day, to make everyone proud.
A big thank you to my family. Eileen, Norman, James and family. They have been a tremendous support. I would not be here if it was not for Philip and Jualeen.
Philip you are my champion and true hero!
Keep a watchful eye on # 107!!! And keep me in your thoughts!!!!
Keep it on one wheel........ "
